Samsung Electronics announced today that it is introducing the 2024 Bixby Air Conditioner Gallery and Bixby Air Conditioner Wall Hanger with enhanced energy-saving features.




The new products enhance energy-saving features and add the ability to control air conditioners and other home appliances with voice via Bixby without the need for a remote control.

All models of the freestanding Bixby Air Conditioner Gallery are either Class 1 or Class 2 energy efficient. It has have also expanded the range of high-efficiency energy-saving models with cooling efficiency that is 10% higher than the Class 1 minimum standard.

Using the AI energy saving mode in the SmartSync app can further reduce energy usage by up to 30%. The maximum power saving rate has been increased from 20%.

Bixby is now available on all models, making the home control experience even more convenient.

Simple voice commands are standard for air conditioner control, and a variety of additional functions, such as scheduling trips and driving according to the weather outside, can be used with just your voice without a remote control.

This year, voice recognition has evolved to the point where other home appliances connected to SmartThings can be controlled by voice through the air conditioner.

For example, in the living room, you can send a voice command to the robot vacuum cleaner Bispoke Jet Bot AI through the air conditioner to start cleaning.

There's also a new feature that recognizes motion in the room. If it thinks there's no movement in the room, it will go into sleep mode or turn off after a period of time to save energy.

The wall-mounted Bispoke Fanless Air Conditioner has also been enhanced with energy-saving features. It optimizes the operation of the compressor in AI economy mode to reduce energy usage by up to 30%.

"The No-Flow Air Conditioner, which has been evolving since its launch in 2016, has taken another step forward with energy-saving features and Bixby," said Moo-Hyung Lee, Vice President of the DA Business Division at Samsung Electronics.  "We will continue to innovate to improve the quality of life through Samsung home appliances."

New technology for group photos with a single profile picture

SK Telecom in South Korea has developed an image generation technology that allows artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically create group photos with various backgrounds and poses by simply inputting a profile photo.  The company plans to utilize the technology, which goes beyond the limits of existing AI's performance in recognizing people, to upgrade various services including its AI personal assistant, A Dot.   A-Slip, a representative of domestic sleep tech start-ups, will launch the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) sleep secretary in the fourth quarter of this year along with OpenAI led by Sam Altman.
